Commemorating 25 Years of Service to the Community

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

— Margaret Mead, Author and Cultural Anthropologist

On October 3, 2000, a small team of dedicated volunteers opened the doors of Mercy Health Clinic to welcome our first patients.

With your support over the past 25 years, Mercy has transformed the lives of our neighbors, helping them lead healthier lives, care for their families, and contribute to our community. During our 25 years of service:

  • 20,500 individuals have received healthcare through 125,000 medical appointments
  • 135,000 individual visits to our pharmacy, meetings with nutrition education counselors, and referrals to outside providers; and
  • 17,500 off-site lab and radiological services for patients.

The core belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay, remains central to our mission today. Despite significant progress, many in our community still lack access to affordable healthcare, and our work is far from complete.

Your support makes a difference.

Today, Mercy is providing care for a record number of patients, averaging 800 monthly office visits since April, well above our pre-pandemic numbers of 600 visits per month. Through your generous investment, Mercy provides healthcare, lifestyle and nutrition education, important cancer screenings, and prescription medications – free of charge – for nearly 2,700 patients this year, including 300 adolescent patients ages 13-17. Our Food As Medicine partnerships make a difference for patients and their families. Our partnership with Community FarmShare provides fresh produce from local farms for 30 patients with poorly controlled diabetes, and our partnership with Adventist Healthcare, allows 75 families at risk of or experiencing food insecurity to pick up fresh produce weekly at the Clinic.

Your annual gift will provide:

  • Comprehensive healthcare for 2,600 patients through 8,000 visits with providers and to pick up medications
  • An adolescent medicine program providing care for 300 youth aged 13-17
  • Distribution of $2.4 million in donated pharmaceuticals, including flu shots, and
  • 2,000 recommended screenings for breast, cervical and colon cancer.

All available free of charge for our patients, thanks to you.

The need for accessible, affordable healthcare continues to grow. To meet increased demand, we rely on support from donors like you to sustain and expand our services – ensuring that our neighbors continue to have access to the care they need.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a vital part of our mission..

With gratitude,

P.S. Please consider monthly giving to support the Clinic all year long!
