Give the gift of health this holiday season!
Commemorating 25 Years of Service to the Community
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
— Margaret Mead, Author and Cultural Anthropologist
On October 3, 2000, a small team of dedicated volunteers opened the doors of Mercy Health Clinic to welcome our first patients.
Over the past 24 years, Mercy has transformed the lives of more than 20,000 of our neighbors, helping them lead healthier lives, care for their families, and contribute to our community.
The core belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay, remains central to our mission today. Despite significant progress, many in our community still lack access to affordable healthcare, and our work is far from complete.
As we enter our 25th year, we are deeply grateful for the vision of our founders, in awe of our dedicated volunteers and staff, and thankful for your generous support. Your kindness has enabled us to provide essential healthcare to the most vulnerable members of our community, making a profound difference in their lives.
On our first day, Mercy’s medical volunteers saw four patients. This month, more than 550 patients will visit their providers, and several dozen more will see one of our volunteer specialists. Additionally, over 300 patients will undergo lab or radiology tests, and at least 250 will pick up medications from our pharmacy. All services at Mercy are provided free of charge through your generosity – the same as it was on our first day.
Thanks to your support, Mercy has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community for the past 24 years. We have expanded our services to include adolescent medicine, achieved national recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, accepted Medicaid patients, and increased support for individuals facing food insecurity and other barriers to leading a productive, healthy life.
This year, we invite you to celebrate our achievements and look forward to the next 25 years of making a difference. In the past year alone, we are proud to report:
- Comprehensive healthcare for 2,150 adult patients, including nearly 7,500 office visits, free medication pick-ups, and flu shots
- An adolescent medicine program providing care for 300 youth aged 13-17
- Distribution of $1.6 million in donated pharmaceuticals
- 1,700 recommended screenings for breast, cervical and colon cancer
The need for accessible, affordable healthcare continues to grow. To meet this increased demand for services, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to sustain and expand our services. As we commemorate our 25th anniversary, we kindly ask you to consider making a special donation to Mercy Health Clinic.
Your gift will directly impact our ability to:
- Continue offering healthcare services free of charge to those without insurance
- Provide essential medications and medical supplies at no cost to our patients
- Build upon decades of innovation to develop new programs that address the unique needs of our patients and the community at large
Thank you for your continued support and for being a vital part of our mission.
